SUMMARY:15TH South East Asia Survey Congress
DESCRIPTION:The ASEAN Federation of Land Surveying and Geomatics (ASEAN FLAG )and Surveying and Spatial Science Institute (SSSI) have forces to jointly organize the Southeast Asia Survey Congress (SEASC) 2019 to be held in Darwin Convention Center\, Darwin\, Northern Territory\, Australia on 15-18 August 2019 with the theme: “Collaboration\, Communication\, Capacity-Building”. \nAbout 500 surveyors across Asia Pacific including Southeast Asia\, Australia and New Zealand will attend the Congress. The Congress will highlight how surveying remains relevant to the needs of society through working collaboratively to meet the future technical\, social and environmental challenges in digitally connected surroundings. \nAccording to SSSI: This is the first time since Fremantle in 1999\, that Australia has hosted a joint international congress with the ASEAN Flag Surveying nations. SEASC 2019 DARWIN is a fantastic opportunity for all Surveyors in the Asia Pacific to demonstrate leadership in their field and share knowledge in one the fastest growing regions of the world. Further\, the Congress is open to all professionals across various disciplines and will strive to have the Territorian spirit of unity and active participation in a friendly and casual atmosphere. The expected registration cost for the 3-4 day Congress will be less than $1\,500 AUD. DESCRIPTION:The International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) and the Vietnam Association of Geodesy – Cartography – Remote Sensing (VGCR) has announced the holding of the FIG Working Week 2019\, with the theme “Geospatial Information for a Smarter Life and Environmental Resilience”\, to be held at the Vietnam National Convention Center\, Hanoi\, Vietnam on 22-26 April 2019. \nSuch an exciting week is expected to bring the international community of surveying and spatial professionals together to experience a mix of interesting plenary and technical sessions and workshops\, a trade exhibition and a variety of side events and social functions. The conference will also offer a unique opportunity to discuss key challenges of our time within the surveying profession with fellow peers. \nThe year 2019 is a very significant time for the Vietnamese community of surveyors as they will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Surveying and Mapping Day of Vietnam (14/12/1959 – 14/12/2019) and the 30th birthday of the VGCR (1989 – 2019). Together with the 65th anniversary of Hanoi’s independence (1954 – 2019)\, the FIG Working Week 2019 will add a great contribution to the festive atmosphere to honor and celebrate this UNESCO’s City of Peace.

(GeoDEV) regarding the monumental event called “The First ASEAN Land Governance Summit” at said venue on December 4 & 5\, 2017.
