President Randolf Sevidal Vicente with Honorary Presidents Pingeran Matusin Matasan and Diah Kirana Kresnawati, and Vice President Ady Ruchiatan visited the Office of Badan Informasi Geospasial (Geospatial Information Agency) in Bogor, Indonesia
In line with fostering regional cooperation and encourage exchanges between organizations, President Randy with Honorary Presidents Matusin and Diah, and Vice President Ady visited the office of Professor Hasanuddin Z. Abidin, PhD., Head, Badan Informasi Geospasial (BIG) located in Bogor, Indonesia on 10 April 2019.
Joining the meeting from BIG side are Mr. Sugeng Prijadi, ASEAN FLAG Council Member, and Dr. Somaryono, representative of Indonesia in the Meeting of Competent Authorities (MoCA) for Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) in Surveying under the auspices of the Coordinating Committee on Services (CCS) – ASEAN, and a senior staff of the agency. President Randy’s wife, Mavic, is also present in the meeting.
A meeting was immediately convened upon arrival at said office. President Randy started by introducing the members of the ASEAN FLAG delegation and the purpose of the visit. This incorporates the invitation and request of President Randy for Dr. Hasanuddin’s support in terms of his attendance as plenary speaker, delegate presence, and technical resource persons in the upcoming 15th Southeast Asia Survey Congress (SEASC) to be held in Darwin, Australia on 14–18 August 2019. Along this line, he assured ASEAN FLAG of his attendance and technical paper presentations of his staff in the Congress.
During the meeting, Dr. Hasanuddin discussed and explained the functions of his office as well as priority programs and projects both ongoing and pipelined. He also discussed the needs and requirements of BIG for Surveyors to undertake the Indonesian government’s survey and titling, and base mapping programs. In line with this, President Randy expressed the importance of the sustained regional cooperation and assured that ASEAN FLAG will always be there to assist BIG, if the need arises.
After the meeting, President Randy conveyed his gratitude for accommodating the delegation and for a very fruitful meeting. An exchange of token of appreciation was carried out at the end of the meeting.
