The ASEAN FLAG hold its 68th Council Meeting in Amara Hotel, Pagar Road, Singapore on 4 and 6 December 2018. The meeting was hosted by the Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers (SISV) and the Land Surveyors Board (LSB) of Singapore. Engr. Randolf Sevidal Vicente, President of ASEAN FLAG, presided the meeting.
Dr. Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse, SSSI President, and Mr. Peter Olah, SSSI Chief Executive Officer, attended the meeting and updated the Council on the status of preparation for the SEASC2019 in Darwin, Australia. This agenda item is in pursuance to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by ASEAN FLAG and the SSSI in Taichung, Taiwan in March 2018.
On 5 December 2018, the Regional Technical Seminar was held at said venue with the theme: “Spatially Enabled Future Cities”. Majority of the members of the Council from ASEAN countries contributed as resource persons and moderators with the participation of Australia, China and Taiwan. About 90 delegates/professionals attended the seminar. In keeping with the tradition of strengthening unity and camaraderie, among others, a Gala Dinner – Fellowship Night was also organized by the hosts.
On 6 December 2018, a Joint Letter of Intent was signed between President Randolf of ASEAN FLAG and President Zaffar of SSSI towards the formulation of an MOU between said organizations. The MOU was envisioned serve as the formal recognition of each organization as a regional partner, support between the organizations in their respective endeavors, and active collaboration on strategic undertakings of value to both sets of members.
